Verify a Korean cosmetic surgery hospital before paying a deposit: seven checks

Before paying a deposit, separate a hospital’s identity from the proposal for your own case. A familiar name, attractive review or active social account does not by itself verify credentials, payment arrangements or your treatment plan. Use the seven checks below to request specific answers and keep a written record of what remains unconfirmed.

Begin with the official hospital identity

Find the institution’s own website and compare its Korean and English names, branch, address and contact details. Cross-check the destination with a map, especially if the consultation and surgery may be in different buildings. Official social channels can show recent activity, but a website or account alone is not proof of licensing or treatment quality.

Confirm who evaluates the case and what is proposed

Ask which doctor or department will review your information, how the clinician’s qualifications can be checked and which records are required. Distinguish general promotional material from an individual proposal. If the clinician, procedure or branch is still provisional, label it that way. A coordinator’s summary should not become a substitute for the hospital’s clinical explanation.

Read the written quote and payment conditions

Request the items included and excluded, currency, validity and any review-related conditions. Ask about anaesthesia, tests, medicines, follow-up, interpretation or other items rather than assuming they are included. Verify the payment recipient through an independently located official hospital contact and retain the agreed rescheduling, cancellation and refund terms. A promotional price is not a complete agreement.

Check review context and the aftercare handover

Ask where images originated, which procedures were performed and when the photographs were taken. Before returning home, confirm the required reviews, contact route and records for further care. Make the coordinator’s after-return role explicit, including any separate local provider or charges. These checks organise information; they do not certify safety or guarantee an outcome.

Practical checklist

  • 1. Hospital identity: official name, branch and website match.
  • 2. Official channels: the contact used is independently checked.
  • 3. Location: consultation and treatment addresses are confirmed.
  • 4. Medical team: doctor or department and verification route are known.
  • 5. Agreement: quote, payee and change/refund terms are written.
  • 6. Reviews: source, procedure and photograph timing are identifiable.
  • 7. Responsibilities: hospital decisions and coordination support are separated.

Questions before you decide

Do famous hospitals still need these checks?

Yes. Reputation does not confirm your particular doctor, branch, quotation, payment recipient or follow-up arrangements.

Are many positive reviews enough?

They can support questions, but do not replace official information and an individual clinical assessment. Check context rather than relying on volume.

What if an important detail is still missing?

Mark it unconfirmed and ask the responsible institution for a written clarification before committing money. Do not fill a gap with an assumption.
