Passport and clinic booking names do not match: what to do before travelling to Korea

Santongsuai team helping prepare information before a hospital consultation

A missing letter or a different surname on a clinic confirmation can create unnecessary confusion on the day of your appointment. Check the details as soon as the confirmation arrives, while there is still time for the clinic to correct its records.

Use the passport you will travel with

Give the booking team your legal name exactly as it appears on that passport. A nickname is useful in conversation, but it should not replace your legal name on appointment records. If the clinic needs a passport copy, ask for its designated private submission channel.

Check more than the spelling

Compare your given name and surname, date of birth, appointment date and time, clinic name and the service you have booked. Keep the confirmation together with the clinic's contact details so that you can find them easily during your trip.

Ask the issuer to make the correction

Send the discrepancy to the clinic or your coordinator and request a new confirmation from the organisation that issued it. Do not edit a clinic document yourself: a corrected copy should also match the clinic's booking system. If your passport has been renewed or your legal name has changed since booking, notify the team before departure.

How Santongsuai can help

Our team can help check the information supplied for a booking and coordinate corrections with the hospital. Appointment documents, airline tickets and entry requirements are separate matters; confirm any travel-document questions with the organisation responsible for them.
