Facelift and neck lift in Korea: prepare a useful consultation

Made Young Plastic Surgery building in Seoul

A facelift consultation is easier to use when it begins with your concerns rather than a procedure name. Lower-face, neck and forehead concerns should be described separately, even when the surgeon discusses a combined plan. Before comparing hospitals in Korea, prepare the information that will help you understand what each proposal actually includes.

Separate the areas you want assessed

Write down which changes bother you most: the lower face, the neck or another area. Ask the surgeon to identify what the proposed procedure is intended to address and what it will not change. If several procedures are suggested, ask for the reason for each rather than assuming a longer list must be a better plan.

Ask for a personal explanation of the approach

Request an explanation of the planned incision locations, the proposed extent of surgery and relevant risks. Terms such as “mini” or “full” do not replace that explanation. Ask whether previous surgery, treatments or scars affect the proposal, and keep a summary of the surgeon’s answers for comparison after the consultation.

Confirm the team and preparation requirements

Record the operating surgeon, planned anaesthesia arrangements and where surgery will take place. Prepare your medical history, allergies, medicines and supplements. Ask the medical team what assessment or preparation they require. Do not alter a regular medicine on the basis of a general article; get instructions from the responsible clinician.

Discuss care before fixing the return date

Ask about the proposed review schedule, wound checks, any suture-removal visits and the route for questions after returning home. Clarify what assistance to arrange at your accommodation and whether changes in the treatment plan could change your stay. Your own examination and follow-up plan matter more than another person’s travel diary.

Consultation checklist

  • Rank the face and neck concerns you want assessed.
  • List previous facial procedures and current medicines.
  • Request the specific procedure scope and operating team.
  • Confirm reviews, travel advice and the medical contact after departure.

Frequently asked questions

Does a facelift automatically include the neck?

Ask the hospital to list the included areas. Do not assume that a package name includes a separate neck procedure.

Can I choose the technique from photographs?

Use photos to describe concerns, then ask the surgeon to explain appropriate options and limitations after assessment.

Can a coordinator confirm my recovery date?

They can organize appointments, but individual clinical and travel advice must come from the treating medical team.
