A surgery trip to China needs a plan for the consultation, the stay and the care that follows. Start before booking flights by confirming the hospital branch, proposed appointments and who will help with communication.
Before booking
Prepare photographs, previous surgery details, health history, allergies and a full medicines and supplements list. Share your goals, budget, available leave and any companion’s needs. Medication changes must come from the treating team.
Before departure
Confirm the hospital’s Chinese address, appointment times, transport contacts, interpreter coverage and accommodation-extension terms. Check entry requirements with official authorities for your nationality and travel date. The treating hospital must confirm the care schedule before you choose a return flight.
During the stay
Keep written instructions, medicine information, follow-up dates and urgent contacts in a language you understand. Ask again if something is unclear; sightseeing should fit the recovery instructions.
Before returning home
Request a treatment summary, material or device details where applicable, medication list and next-review arrangements. Agree how information will be sent to the hospital after you return. For a serious emergency, seek local emergency care rather than wait for a coordinator’s chat response.
