Your surgery trip needs a follow-up plan as well as an operation date. The first 7–14 days can include wound checks, dressing changes, stitch removal or other reviews. This is a planning window, not a recovery timetable that applies to every procedure.
Before booking your return flight
Ask the hospital to identify the consultation, tests, operation, follow-up appointments and any stitch or device removal. Confirm when the treating doctor expects you to be ready to travel. Another person's review is not a substitute for your own schedule.
The operation day and first week
Keep the hospital's discharge instructions and contact numbers accessible. Ask for written guidance on prescribed medicines, food, sleeping arrangements and wound care. Between appointments, leave time for rest and travel across Seoul rather than filling every day with activities.
Days 7–14 and the review before departure
Some procedures have a review or stitch removal during this period; others require a longer stay. If your planned flight falls before the hospital's recommended review, discuss the options before confirming the trip. Concerning symptoms should be assessed through the hospital's urgent-contact pathway, without waiting for a routine appointment.
What to take home
Keep the procedure summary, medication list, aftercare instructions, next review date and hospital contacts together. Ask what records a doctor at home may need. Santongsuai can help coordinate questions and follow-up communication; the treating team determines the clinical plan.
