Second or third rhinoplasty in Korea: what to prepare for your surgeon

Santongsuai team helping prepare information before a hospital consultation

If you are considering a second or third nose operation, your previous treatment history matters as much as the shape you hope to achieve. A useful consultation starts with what has already been done, what concerns you now and which records are available.

Prepare seven pieces of information

Bring the month and year of each operation; the country and clinic; the procedures performed; the implant or graft material, if known; your current concerns; photographs from before and after earlier operations; and any history of infection, wound problems, implant removal or further treatment. An operation report or implant card is more helpful than guessing a material's name. If a detail is unknown, say so.

Separate appearance from function

Explain whether your concern is shape, asymmetry, discomfort, breathing or a combination. Describe when the issue began and any treatment received. Photographs can help the team prepare a consultation, but they do not establish the final surgical plan.

Ask about the limits as well as the options

Ask the surgeon which concerns can reasonably be addressed, whether another operation should be postponed, what materials may be considered and what further examination is needed. A more expensive package does not, by itself, explain why a particular approach suits your case.

Compare quotations on the same basis

Check the named surgeon, proposed procedures, anesthesia, examinations, materials, hospital charges and follow-up. Ask which items are excluded and how changes to the plan affect the quotation. There is no single price that represents every revision case.

Agree on follow-up before booking flights

Confirm the required stay, appointments before departure and the contact route after returning home. Santongsuai can organise your questions and coordinate with the hospital; the surgeon determines suitability, timing and treatment.
